`org-roam` equivalent of `org-journal-file-type`?

Hello dear org-roam community

I am pretty sure that org-roam-dailies doesn’t provide a variable to adjust the default granularity of one file per day like org-journal-file-type in org-journal.

Let’s say that I would like to work with one file per month (perfect granularity for me, kind of like an inbox.org file, less files for org-agenda) but don’t want to install the full org-journal package.
As org-roam-dailies fill my needs nicely so far, would there be any convenient way to achieve similar functionality?

No trace of any trail?

I don’t use dailies but I believe org-roam-dailies have no support for weeklies and monthlies.

Perhaps you can use the same method mentioned here: Org-journal vs org-roam-dailies - #7 by kris

I believe @kris’s way is to create org-journal files inside org-roam-directory.

Thanks for your answer nobiot (and for your work on org-roam in general)
Actually kris’s answer was what I was doing before, but I found nice to have an all in one ecosystem for notes and journaling.

I guess I have no other choice than going back to org-journal then, as I want monthly files and TODO carryover. To think that I had managed to configure everything perfectly with roam-dailies… ^^

Thanks.

I have a strong feeling that many Org-roam users would be interested in your workflow that combines Org-journal and Org-roam-dailies – if you are happy to do a write up. Just an idea

That’s part of my plans to do a write-up about my workflow
I am currently rushing against time so this stays on the SOMEDAY state for now, but I’m definitely thinking about it
