Org roam buffer is totally empty

Hi,
I’m on doom emacs and some while ago something broke in my config such that the side buffer comes up completely empty - not even the title is showing.
I’ve updated both doom itself and org-roam, and I’ve added file-truename to the definition of my org-roam-directory - to no avail.

org-roam-find-file and insert do work, so the database etc. seem ok…
I’d really appreciate any help.

I would delete the db file and create it again. Have you done that already?

found it! for some reason I had another setq for the org-roam-directory later on in the file, that didn’t have the new truename addition… I deleted it, restarted doom, et voila.
