Custom org-roam buffer widgets?

Love org-roam, it’s amazing! Currently migrating from Tiddlywiki.

I’d like to customize the way the org-roam buffer works more than just choosing which of the predefined widgets appear. I’m pretty sure it’s possible to make my own widgets, but I’m not sure where to start.

I found this in the manual, about customizing the buffer:

But that isn’t quite what I’m looking for.

Has anybody made their own widgets? Thanks in advance!

It should be on 7.2 of the manual. It talks about adding/removing “sections”.

You can create your own sections. They are created with using margit-section.

This is the best example of use of it as far as I could see.

His code is too advanced for me to understand. This is one of specific coding examples from this repo.
