# What does this offer over stock Org mode?

The way Org-roam is described at a high level on the website and in the manual, it isn’t obvious in what way it improves over stock Org mode with a handful of customizations. I have used Org to create a "personal Wiki/web of ideas” in the past. I’m not saying roam doesn’t have any value to offer, but I just can’t tell. I’d like to know in what substantial ways my life would be different using it in lieu of just using Org. And whatever the answer is, that _really_ should be written down somewhere in Org-roam’s introductory material!

Not sure if our lives will be different in any substantial way, though.
